ICT IN EDUCATION

In my tutorial class, my lecturer ask us to go to library to find about something that related with ICT. Then, I chose the topic 'ICT in education'and I did go to library and I found some related references to my the topic that i chose . The first one is 'ICT DAN PEMBELAJARAN' written by Prof. Ng Wai Kong from Malaysia Science University. He said that "ICT is the better way in education as a technology to improve education system.
I think that is true. We already know that how technology in education system improve the use of computer from primary school until university students. Furthermore, we can get more information in the easy way. Technologies give us more advantages in our daily lives.
Prof Kong also said that ICT gave us benefits because it always gives the expected results, but the difficult thing is to make sure the process and the technology works together properly. The use of computer or the ICT in school actually is good to encourage pupils or students explore various information resources impact of their curiousity. The technology in the computer has like power point, microsoft word, excel, spreadsheet, and etcetera are useful to make the teaching and learning more interesting and more effective.
The other book is 'USING ICT in PRIMARY MATHEMATICS TEACHING' written by Mary Briggs and Alan Pritchard from British Library. Eventhough it is more specific on math, but it still talk about the education. They wrote that there are 5 major opportunities which the use of ICT is able to provide in order to support learning in mathematics. They are learning from feedback, observing patterns,exploring data,teaching the computer and developing visual imagery. (NCET, 1997)

The use of ICT in education makes students easier to understand about something new because students want to know more about something that they do not know before. They will search about something that they like to know more about it.
The purposes of teaching usingICT in education is to introduce new ideas which it is also involve new skills, to allow for practice, to encourage students learn more about computer and how to use it corectly .
